Palazzo Dragoni is a sober and elegant residence, located in the historic center of Spoleto near the cathedral.
The building dates back to the first half of the 1500s, it is a renovation and replacement of older buildings dating back to 900-1000 with the remains of an ancient medieval tower built on part of pre-Roman walls. One can still admire the ancient alley of the same era that the old buildings overlooked, which still shows intact the charm of past centuries.
The Dragoni family, listed by Saverio Minervio among the “illustrious folk,” was one of those who became prominent in the city of Spoleto by exploiting the proceeds of agriculture and public offices.the house’s coat of arms of the lineage is the shield in Samnite form with three golden Dragon Heads on a red field, later changed to three green heads on a gold field.
Palazzo Dragoni is now owned by the Diotallevi family, which has transformed it into a refined period residence. In the true spirit of this particular hotel classification of the Umbria region, the owners will personally welcome you, wishing that on your departure you will not have felt like a hotel guest but a guest in their House.
